Capybara. It seems like one day people noticed how calm and collected these curious, sociable creatures are and thought they were an interesting answer to our busy world! If you ask me, capybaras’ calm, stress-free nature also makes them an exemplary character for children’s books. While there aren’t many books about capybara characters yet, I’ve done some searching and put together a list of interesting titles Capybara Children’s Books.
So what is a capybara? For those unfamiliar, the capybara is the world’s largest rodent and is native to South America. They are close relatives of the Guinea guinea pig and the rock guinea pig. They are semi-aquatic animals with webbed feet that help them swim, and they live near muddy swamps, jungle ponds, and flooded grasslands. Capybaras are herbivores, and interestingly, since the grass they eat is difficult to digest, they eat their own poop to absorb more nutrients! Capybaras are also very aloof and very social, they live in large groups and are often seen riding on their backs while being ridden by birds and other small animals. It’s their calm, friendly nature that makes capybaras such a dominant presence on social media!
