Olivia spends the night on first date after divorce

Olivia Plath is officially back in the dating pool.

The reality star revealed on the Aug. 27 episode of the show that she went on her first date since her divorce from ex-husband Ethan. Welcome to Plathville. Olivia explained that she had set up a date with a “friend of a friend,” and that night took an unexpected turn.

“We had dinner, went to a few bars, saw some live music, had some drinks, and I – who was 25 and had never been on a date or had any such experience – when he said, I didn’t Doubting anything, “Do you want to go home and meet my cat?” she said in a confessional. “Because he’d been telling me about his cat all night, and I was like, ‘I absolutely love cats, of course I do.'”

“So I quickly discovered that I didn’t know a lot about a lot of things,” she continued. “I did meet his cat. She was cute. I looked at her for about a minute. Let’s just say it was the first time I spent the night at someone else’s house.

Although Olivia admitted she was naive, she said it was a “good date” and “he’s a lovely gentleman.”

“I don’t regret it at all,” she said. “I guess I’m just very self-conscious. A first date is like being thrown into the deep end and then realizing I can’t swim.

After that experience, Olivia said she decided to stop dating in Los Angeles and began looking for someone interested in a long-distance relationship.

“I found it was a great way to stay separate from my single personal life in LA, figure myself out, and still have some fun while traveling, dating, talking to people I don’t see every day them,” she said. “It’s not going to take over my personal life. So I think the distance is really great for me.

The date also showed Olivia telling her friend she enjoyed the event more than dinner and drinks while making tiramisu and sharing a bottle of wine. When she meets someone for the first time, she explains that she wants to see them in a more natural way.

“It’s really kind of like, ‘Okay, when you’re in a really nice environment and you’re dressed your best, anyone can be really nice,'” she shared. “Like I’d like to go paintball with someone and see if they like competition. What do you do when you’re bored? For example, are you a good conversationalist or do you need props for everything?

Olivia then dropped a bombshell, revealing she’d been dating a man who lived in a different state.

“I met a guy at work and he said, ‘Hey, you know, I really want to take you out for dinner and drinks, and, looking at your social media, you look like you’re at the event.'” I’m someone who, if you want to do something different, you name it, I’m frustrated, let’s do it,” she recalled. “When a man comes along and sees me for who I am and sees me there, I think it’s a great way to differentiate myself.”

She added: “Then we went on a date and we had a lot of fun when we were together. Very physically attracted as well. It worked. There was a lot of compatibility.

When the producer said it “sounds like there might be potential,” Olivia smiled and nodded in agreement.
