The wide receiver did not play in any preseason games due to a shoulder injury in his first pro season, NBC reported. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told the media during the team’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders last week that Pearsall suffered a shoulder subluxation, in which part of the shoulder popped out of its socket.

“I think he did it his junior year in college,” Shanahan said of Pearsall’s reinjury on Aug. 6, according to media reports. “It makes him very vulnerable. , so you give him time to recover from that. It’s probably happened to 80 percent of our team at some point. It’s just a normal thing.

The 49ers will open their season on Monday, September 9 against the New York Jets at Levi’s Stadium.
