Jennifer Lopez’s ‘Unstoppable’ earns standing ovation and praise in Toronto

In an exclusive interview with People magazine ahead of the film’s premiere in Toronto on Friday, September 6, Robles opened up to PEOPLE about the realities of turning his life story into a movie.

“I would say the hardest part is talking about uncomfortable things,” he said. “But I feel like, in order to tell my story properly and really impact the most people, they have to understand my pain. They have to know the scars that I’ve been through and the things that I’ve dealt with. I think that’s very important to me. It’s difficult, but it’s also therapeutic.

Although there were “some things that didn’t fit the movie,” Anthony, who received a standing ovation as the credits rolled, told People magazine that he was pleased with the “overall message.”

“We made it, this team made it,” he added. “No matter what happens to you, you can overcome it. You’re going to be unstoppable.”

Judy also attended the screening and hugged Lopez after he introduced her to the audience, as shown by hollywood reporter.

During the Q&A, Lopez said Anthony and Judy trusted the filmmakers “with all the information they could give us and knew we weren’t going to misuse it in any way but only use it to do the best and most effective “The beautiful way their story is told is what it deserves,” he added, “because it’s one of the most beautiful and inspiring stories I’ve ever seen on screen.”

Along with Lopez and Jerome, unstoppable Starring Michael Peña, Don Cheadle, Bobby Cannavale. Ben Affleck and longtime friend Matt Damon produced the film under their production company Artists Equity. Damon and his wife Luciana also attended the film’s premiere in Toronto on Friday.
