Jon Bernthal won the Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series award for his performance at the 2024 Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Sunday, September 8. Bear.

“When season two came around and I actually got to go to Chicago and be a part of the cast, I realized we needed another side of McGee,” he continued. “We needed to see his hurt and his ugliness and see his spiral. As an actor, it was important to me as an actor to be able to put these buoys into the water and tell who he was and why he resonated with the family. It was a cool exercise, even though he could be really ugly at times.
