If Puerto Rico wasn’t already a great family vacation spot, the island just got a major upgrade with the reopening of its science park. After a seven-year hiatus and a $20 million renovation, Toroverde’s beloved technologically advanced and innovative technology campus is open to the public. Located in the San Juan suburb of Bayamon, this 30-acre park now features 25 incredible attractions, making it one of the most advanced theme parks in the Caribbean.

“We are excited to reopen Science Park as a state-of-the-art facility that blends fun and learning in a unique environment,” said Jorge Jorge, President and CEO of Toroverde.

The park holds significance as a cultural and educational landscape for Puerto Rico, celebrating the island’s rich history and scientific and technological achievements. “The park was established in 1989 and is nostalgic for many Puerto Ricans,” Jorge told parents. “It closed after Hurricane Maria.”

After a new makeover, the park now has upgraded technology as well as food and beverage services. Currently supporting nearly 800 direct jobs and with partnerships with NASA and Guinness World Records, the park features an educational dome with themes that change every three months, meaning there is always a New reasons to visit.

“The park can accommodate 12,000 to 15,000 people at a time, but we limit it to 5,000 people to avoid overcrowding,” Jorge said. “We also work with hotels on packages where these guests always get tickets.”

Additionally, the park is designed with neurodiversity in mind and features sensory-friendly experiences and spaces to ensure that all visitors, regardless of age or ability, can explore the wonders of the park. In addition, there are ramps and other accommodations throughout the park, reflecting their commitment to accessibility.

A core focus of this vast park is fostering a love of STEM through hands-on workshops and interactive exhibits. These unique experiences are sure to inspire and inspire the next generation of scientists and innovators.

College of Aeronautics and Astronautics

The Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics is a museum developed in partnership with NASA that includes an exhibit hall focused on advancements and historical events in the aerospace field. The attraction also features a gyroscope, a device used to measure or maintain direction and angular velocity. Astronauts use gyroscopes during space training. The museum also features photo opportunities, a gift shop, and an event terrace.

One of the highlights is the virtual reality platform, which allows visitors to experience the feeling of flying freely through various landscapes, such as swimming in the depths of the ocean with humpback whales or excursions with mermaids.

The trackless train system allows you to experience transportation like never before, ensuring everyone can easily visit the park.
