In a recent interview, rapper 50 Cent revealed some personal information about his colleague and friend Eminem, noting that for the “Lose Yourself” rapper, fatherhood comes first of.
50 Cent recalls trying to get Eminem on the road and traveling the world together. However, Eminem, who is raising a young daughter, cannot be shaken.
“I’m like, ‘Yo, we should go on a tour like this. Do you know how much they’re going to pay us to do this? Because if we bring it, we’re going to be on the Super Arena stage, just me and you [Dr. Dre] On certain dates, so we’ll do things differently. We don’t need anything else. This is going to be the biggest tour in the world,” the “In Da Club” rapper said in an interview with CBS Morning’s Michelle Miller.
“He would say, ‘You just do it.’ Because he didn’t want to leave. He told me one time… He said, ‘I just don’t want to go back, and Hailey has grown up.’ “
50 admitted that at the time he could not understand his friend’s point of view and wondered how one could possibly refuse such an opportunity. It wasn’t until he attended Hailey’s wedding that he finally understood Eminem’s origins.
“And I didn’t know what he meant. When he said that to me, I thought he was crazy because I was like, He just doesn’t want to go. Because at the time I was trying to convince him to go on tour. And then…I went to Haley’s wedding. She got married and I thought, this is what he said. It seems like time flies by so fast, we are really going to get married, and she has grown up…”
50 revealed that he actually told the Detroit rapper at Hailey’s wedding that he finally knew where his friend was coming from all those years ago, saying: “I said this to him at the wedding… I said, “Remember what you said to me? I said, ‘I don’t understand what you meant until now.’
The 50-year-old, who is father of two, Marquise, 27, and 12-year-old, admitted he cried at Hailey’s wedding. As we so often do, the rapper used this milestone moment as an opportunity to look back at his life and that of his friends, and it took him a second to realize how quickly it all went by.
“It was unbelievable,” he said of her big day. “That’s the craziest thing to me. I was like, ‘Yo, man, this is crazy. We’re getting older. Your baby’s grown up. What the hell?
“I had a lot of fun there myself,” 50 continued. “I told Em: ‘Can you say it’s okay to cry? Because I’m crying! I can’t believe it’s going so fast.
Is there anything more likeable than a rapper with a strong heart of gold? No!
