For boys, two of France’s most popular boys’ names are growing in popularity in the United States: Raphael climbed 121 spots to No. 328 on the U.S. BabyCenter list; Louis climbed 87 spots to No. 267 .
For girls, the very popular French name Louis moves up 63 spots to No. 816 on BabyCenter. Other French girls’ names are also on the rise, including Elodie (up 449), Arlet (up 338) and Julie (up 287). Honestly, love all of these!
Aside from the Olympics, one of the biggest headlines in sports in 2024 is women’s college basketball and the WNBA — and that’s reflected in baby name trends. Superstar Caitlin Clark’s name has moved up more than 2,000 spots, potentially leading to a comeback for the name that was popular in the ’80s and ’90s. Kamilla Cardoso, who went from playing for the South Carolina Gamecocks to playing professionally with the WNBA’s Chicago Sky, is also turning things around. Her name rose 53 spots to No. 1,210.
The Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs are also impacting babies across the country. Travis Kelce, Isiah Pacheco and Creed Humphrey are finding their names increasingly popular with parents.

Earth also has a big year, if you ask us. Celestial events such as solar eclipses, comets, and more northern lights than usual have left the world in awe. So, companies like Sol (up 334 spots), Eclipse (up 4,421 spots), Luna (10th), Aurora (12th), Nova (17th) and Orion (up 137 spots to 301st) With a name like this it’s no surprise.
On the other hand, the names Milton and Helene are likely to be sent to the dog house after causing major havoc across the country. While we don’t have the data yet, historically damaging hurricanes have had a significant impact on baby name rankings — do you know any 20-year-old named Katrina?

Some baby names always rise and fall due to names in the news, and 2024 is no different.
Some pop stars have an influence on all of us. Sabrina Carpenter and Billie Eilish’s names continue to rise – Sabrina up 109 spots to No. 342, and Billie up 37 spots to No. 842. rise by degree.
