Exercise tips for busy single moms

Last updated on September 2, 2023 by Lori Pace

I was often told that I was a single mother and had little time to exercise. Did you know? I get it. This can be a daunting challenge for us and for moms. There are many ways we can support our fitness goals. We should and must take care of ourselves. These are my top exercise tips for single moms who have helped me over the years.

walk around

Getting back into exercise is a great habit to improve your mental health. Exercise can boost your confidence and improve your endurance. Your postpartum brain can drag you through emotionally difficult times. However, being a mom of a newborn doesn’t give you enough time to rest and focus on becoming more emotionally stable.

That’s why the best exercise is walking wherever you need to go. You can slowly and gradually increase the amount of time you walk each day. Make a plan and manage your time, and good luck!

Online or home gym

This is great for single moms, but it also works well if you live far from a gym or have young children and can’t get out. Over the years you can start building your equipment. You don’t have to have all heavy equipment, instead you can have plenty of yoga and weight lifting equipment. Having the flexibility to exercise in your own home at a time that suits you and at an intensity that interests you would be a much better idea. There are many options online, including YouTube channels and apps.

electrical muscle stimulation

EMS sends tiny electrical impulses to your muscles, producing the same frequencies that your brain normally sends to cause your muscles to contract. It is non-weight-bearing and has minimal impact on joints. It feels almost like the TENS machine used during labor. EMS training takes 20 minutes and is equivalent to a 4-hour traditional weight lifting workout or a 90-minute HIIT class.

supplements

You can also try mushroom gummies. Mushroom gummies have the potential to increase energy, depending on the specific types of mushrooms used. Certain varieties, such as cordyceps or lion’s mane, are known for their ability to increase energy levels and improve mental acuity. These types of mushrooms have the potential to relieve fatigue, enhance concentration, and promote overall health.

mentality

This is not due to lack of time. If this is a priority for you, the key is how you make it work. Movement is something you should believe in. Moms, especially single moms, should take care of themselves. “Everything is computable,” said Marie Forleo, founder of Marie Forleo International. These exercise tips are for single moms who have limited time but want to make it happen.
