Over the past decade, the franchise has become a mainstay in the film industry, starting with bringing back the iconic stories of ’90s blockbusters (looking at you, toy story) to construct the entire movie universe (oh hey, Marvel). But Disney may be the king when it comes to this kind of story building, which is why everyone is losing their mind over the announcement of D23. The Incredibles 3 Yes.
The Incredibles 2 Even though it was actually released in 2018 – a full six years ago, it still feels like a recent movie. But the series started in 2004, when The Incredibles was released. Despite its popularity, it took a few years for everyone to get around to making a sequel, and now fans (ahem, my kids and I) want more.
Although a release date has not yet been announced, Pixar chief Pete Docter said The Incredibles 3 It’s definitely a try – Brad Bird, director and writer of the first two films in the series, is on board again. But that’s all the information we have so far, and Docter ended the Pixar portion of the event with “More on that next time.”
Considering the original cast appears in the sequel, it’s safe to assume they’ll be back again The Incredibles 3. So fingers crossed that Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, and Samuel L. Jackson will all reprise their roles as Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozone.
Personally, I also hope Bob Odenkirk reappears in the second film as Winston Deaver as an ally in the fight for superhero rights. But it’s also interesting considering the movie explores more of little Jack’s powers and what that means to the family. I can only assume Jack-Jack will always be a baby, considering Violet and Dash – the other incredible kids – didn’t age during this time The Incredibles and The Incredibles 2. Part of Jack-Jack’s ruse as a character seems to be to take him as a baby and turn him into a talkative preschooler or an older child who suddenly controls a lot of his stuff (many) doesn’t feel too powerful.
one of my favorite things The Incrediblesand why I love sharing it with my kids is because the parenting part of the story feels so real. Stories about parents trying to do the right thing, bending and breaking rules when necessary, and being open and honest with their kids—it’s the kind of stories that really make you feel like a parent. and in The Incredibles 2defying gender roles and norms by having Mr. Incredible stay home and take care of the kids while Elastigirl is out fighting bad guys, always left me feeling a little emotional.
Plus, if Brad Bird returns to direct (and hopefully write a third installment), I think we can safely assume that Enda Mode (and guests!) will be back on our screens. She’s probably one of the most iconic Pixar characters, and I have a feeling Bird and Pixar heard our pleas for more Edna.
perhaps The Incredibles 3 Also look at her backstory? That would be fun, honey.
