“Poltergeist” house on the market

Horror movie fans can now live out their wildest dreams poltergeist Home is now on the market!

This 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom home is for sale by Lauren Murdock in association with Equity Union and is listed for $1,174,999. The residence was the setting for a 1982 supernatural horror film directed by Tobe Hopper and co-produced by Steven Spielberg. TMZ first reported the news.

In addition to the house’s haunted history, there’s an even bigger draw to the property – it’s now on the market for the first time in 45 years.

The single-family home at 4267 Roxbury Street in Simi Valley, California, less than an hour’s drive from Los Angeles, “was the location for much of the filming of the first film in the series,” according to a release from Equity Union. The agency insists “the house is clean.”

Equity Union claims the Southern California property is “ready for a new family and free of ghostly antics.”

“We’ve had quite a bit of interest in the property,” Murdock told PEOPLE of the 2,373-square-foot Ventura County home.

The house features a spacious living room with large windows that provide plenty of natural light.

“The formal dining room leads to the infamous kitchen, which movie fans will love to see still in its original form, but with newer appliances of course!” the listing adds.

There’s also a fireplace perfect for cuddling up with family, and an office space that could be converted into an additional bedroom. There is also a half bath and a laundry room on the main floor.

As you go upstairs, hopefully avoiding any ghouls, there are four bedrooms.

The master bedroom has stunning vaulted ceilings, and a spacious en-suite bathroom with huge soaking tub, dual sinks, separate shower area, and large walk-in closet.

The remaining three bedrooms share a bathroom in the hallway.

Additionally, there is a three-car garage that provides the home with ample storage space. The backyard also has a large swimming pool and jacuzzi, perfect for gatherings and family time.

poltergeist It tells the story of the Freeling family of five, who are terrorized by ghosts before their youngest child is taken away by otherworldly visitors.

The 1982 film grossed $121.7 million at the box office. Two more films followed, including Poltergeist II: The Other Side 1986 and Poltergeist III Released in 1988.
