In a recent interview, rapper and Rihanna’s husband ASAP Rocky shared a glimpse into the iconic couple’s home life. Rocky, 35, interviewed watt zine about fatherhood and the process of creating his first full-length album since the birth of his children.
The couple has two sons, 2-year-old Rza and 9-month-old Riot. You may remember Rihanna announcing her pregnancy on stage at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show (because who didn’t) – and it was a Riot baby!
Rocky is currently working on his upcoming album, Don’t be stupid. he and watt How fatherhood changed his life growing up.
“It changed my style,” he said. “I’m such a dad, it’s so fucking funny. I haven’t been to the gym in weeks. I get home and my kids are in bed. I leave and they’re still sleeping,” he said, pointing out is about the sacrifices he had to make this time to make this album.
He went on to share a little bit about the kids’ personalities.
“I thought Rza would keep quiet. He’s an introvert,” he said. “Riot is an extrovert – he’s just like his mom. Rza is more like his dad and like me. He’s my twin. He gets his mom’s forehead, but he gets everything else from me ,” he joked.
“Riot respects Rza,” Rocky added. “I think Rza is getting ready for Riot.”
Man, we feel it!
Rocky recently visited Barbados, the birthplace of Rihanna’s family and Rocky’s father’s family. He said the trip reminded him of his father, Adrian Mayers, who died in 2012.
He shared that the most important lesson he learned from his father was “a little humility—and a dose of pride when appropriate.” Yin Yang. What I’ve learned is that freedom is key, so I really want to support my kids and hopefully be able to accept whoever and whatever they want to be in life.
Loki continued to reflect on his father, who like him had two sons.
“Once you become a parent, no matter what, you embody that,” Rocky said. “I’m happy, at least I still have a parent. Without our support [his and Rihanna’s] Mom and Dad, I don’t know what we’re going to do.
Rocky also specifically mentioned that his most important support is of course from Rihanna.
“She knows when to repress,” he said. “I think we all have our strengths and things we’re good at. She’ll never be a great father because she’s a great mother. I’ll never be a great mother because I’m the world’s greatest The greatest dad ever.
