With the holidays quickly approaching, it’s time to get everything organized! Wrap the presents, pick up those last-minute stocking stuffers, and send a thoughtfully detailed (and slightly insane) group text message to your family members who are visiting for the holidays.
One woman on TikTok, Molly, shared an epic text about her mom in a family group chat, mocking her mom’s absolute health.
“I just got the annual group text from my mom about her family’s Christmas party, and I thought it was worth sharing because it’s a great text. My mom has a way of saying things, and to me, that’s fun . I’m not trying to be mean to her. I’m going to show her this TikTok, but it’s a good one,” Molly said before prefaced by buying her mom a family photo.
The text is as follows:
“Hey everyone!! 🎄❤️️❤️️ Our family’s Christmas plans are next Monday, December 23rd. We will be taking family photos starting at 3pm and Molly sent a text about this earlier. But I want plain clothes of your choice. We’ll also have a Christmas themed event if we can, so add some pops of red, green, plaid, etc…😬😍. , we’ll also be doing a White Elephant Swap with some fun games and prizes 💲💲 The gift opening and dinner will be awesome and delicious, so come hungry and get ready for some laughs and love 🕺. 💲😍❄️💃 Dinner is provided by us. Don’t bring anything unless you require special food options. Can’t wait to be together, the reason for the season, the birth of Christ and the provider of everything we have and enjoy. 🙏 🎄🕊
“That’s what she said,” Molly joked.
First, let’s talk about the perfect use of emojis. She really knocked it out of the park. Secondly, she means what she says! She kindly asks people to dress in their holiday best and act promptly! By the end, you can tell this angel in this woman just wants her family to have a great time!
She just wants to be with her family, open some presents, and soak in all the good vibes. She doesn’t expect extra labor from anyone either! Here’s a baby boomer mom who gets it!
TikTok users took to Molly’s comments section to share their thoughts on the epic group post.
“Sounds like you have the best mom ever…she tries her best to make her family’s Christmas experience perfect,” one user wrote.
“Introduce her to Canva so she can turn it into a ✨newsletter✨,” suggested another.
Some users accused Molly of “mocking” her mom, and she quickly responded in an updated video.
“It completely misses the point of TikTok. Not making fun of my mom, not mocking her. Like I thought it was funny, mostly because it was executed flawlessly and most of the comments picked up on that,” she said.
“It’s like she didn’t leave any crumbs after she finished eating. Every detail was discussed and we were given instructions. The emojis were clearly elitist. You know, like not making fun of my mom at all. When she looked To this TikTok and how popular it is, it’s like you guys don’t make fun of my mom like I’m so thankful for that. A mom too. I have two grown kids. Trust me I know what it takes to organize a family gathering with grown kids. Trust me.
