While you’re busy crossing off the last items on this year’s back-to-school supply list (or just starting – no judging), a surprise has just dropped that might add some sunshine to the process. A new video featuring preschool learning icons Rachel and Elmo has been released on YouTube as they prepare for school together.
Although it’s not the first time sesame street Joining forces with a popular children’s educator, this is the first in a planned trilogy of videos sesame street Created in collaboration with Ms. Rachel.
At the beginning of the film, we see Elmo preparing a brand new song: “This is how we go to school.” Through songs, Ms. Rachel and Elmo demonstrate how to get dressed, eat breakfast, brush teeth, pack a bag, and say goodbye before getting on the school bus.
The video goes on to show what a full day of learning looks like in the classroom, with Ms. Rachel and other friends teaching the alphabet using games and other familiar songs.
In the film’s description, the goal is to simulate every step of getting ready for a day of learning—from first getting out of bed to getting home—in the hope that kids won’t feel nervous about the new experience.
The other two videos will be in sesame street and Ms. Rachel YouTube channels, each featuring new songs featuring Ms. Rachel featuring Elmo and others, have yet to be announced sesame street Characters Abby and Cookie Monster.
