In a recent interview with Bustle, Reality TV star, mother of two, and entrepreneur Khloé Kardashian opens up about what it’s like to turn 40, noting that the milestone birthday is more of a celebration for her than an event Things to mourn.
The founder of XO KHLOÉ fragrance notes that as she gets older, her perspective on aging has changed.
“When you’re young, you think 40 is old, and now I’m like, ‘Wait a minute — I feel great!’ I’m in the best shape of my life. I’m doing new career things “I just turned 40 about six months ago, but it’s definitely the best,” she tells Bustle, before explaining how she’s preparing to enter the next decade, which she calls a “transformation.”
“You don’t give a shit about some of the things you’ve done. At 39, I consciously tried to close a lot of chapters. I called it fall off — Get rid of this decade of my 30s and the energy I want to leave behind. I did so many new things in my first year of 40 that I knew my 40s and beyond were going to be incredible.
As for dating in her 40s, Khloe isn’t so sure. She has two children – True, 6, and Tatum, 2 – with NBA star Tristan Thompson. The on-again, off-again couple have such busy lives raising their children together that Khloe admitted she wasn’t sure about dating, especially as a mom in the public eye.
“I don’t know if it’s just me, but today’s date was terrible. I wouldn’t meet someone on social media. I wouldn’t check my DMs. I’m not! When you’re on someone’s On Instagram, if it’s a man, it’s cliche for anyone to do that unless you like them,” she said.
“I can’t imagine bringing a guy I’m dating to my kids. So where am I going to date you? I’m not going to go to a restaurant with paparazzi and everyone’s going to say we’re going to meet you next week. Get married. I won’t go to your house because what if you kill me? mine Home – I have a baby! I wouldn’t go to a restaurant – that’s too presumptuous. So I asked, ‘What do you do?’
When it comes to the public spotlight, Khloe admits that among her siblings, some feel more comfortable in the spotlight (like Kim!), while others prefer a quieter life. Khloe told Busy she agrees with the latter.
“I love all my brothers and sisters, but I think with Rob, I identify so much with him. I feel deeply what he feels – the struggle that he goes through, or just wanting to stay out of the public eye, or just feeling like he doesn’t fit in or Being judged for his appearance I feel like we grew up as a couple: first Kourtney and Kim, then me and Rob, then Kendall and Kylie. I just feel like we’re each other’s protectors. . . . I love him very much,” she admits.
That’s why when she became a mother in 2018, she was determined to make sure True had a sibling.
“[Having siblings is] Best ever. That’s why I’m so desperate for True to have a sibling. Not to be morbid, but when my dad died, my mom – no matter how incredible and amazing she was – she couldn’t understand the pain of his death. us Felt. So with True, I thought, “I need her to have someone.” It was inevitable that both of her parents would leave at some point. I just need her to have that support system,” she admits.
While Rob may be her twin flame, Kardashian fans may be surprised to learn that Khloe relies on Kim the most for support during tough times.
She continued, “It takes a village to raise a family — it takes a village just to live in this world, especially today. It’s so dark and it’s so heavy. But I will say, my sister Kim has really been there. Holding my hand and helping me through so many dark stages. But Kim was truly a crusader for me.
