Mom hires private driver to take daughter to school

If you had the means, would you hire help during the exhausting newborn phase? I have friends who are night nurses and I often cry out of sheer jealousy at how lucky they are to be able to provide this kind of help. Everyone raises their kids differently, in different ways, so why do we still shame moms who choose a slightly different path?

A mum has been heavily criticized for admitting she hired a private driver to take her daughter to school while she stayed home in the morning to look after her newborn.

“Newborns hate car seats and scream the entire car ride, which is too stressful for all of us every morning,” Kristina Fortuna (@MomSecretsAndLife) wrote in her video , showing her family’s morning routine.

“Of course, a close relative shamed me and said we were wasting money and everyone was doing it on their own without help, but honestly I’d rather invest in my peace of mind and avoid feeling overwhelmed.”

She continued, “I’m already trying to keep things going and I don’t want my stress to affect my ability to support my first-year students. I’m going back to work in a few weeks and I need all the help I can get. You think I’m wasted Money and weakness? What would you pay to make your life easier instead of doing it yourself?”

Reaction to the film has certainly been mixed. Some praised the mom for her honesty and openness, while others questioned her first-grader’s safety.

“Wait, is her driver a grown man!? I literally wouldn’t even think about that for a second. The older, professional female nanny I hired still makes me anxious with background checks and references ,” one user wrote.

“My only thought is, do you know this guy?! If you don’t, your sweet baby will be in danger. 🥺” said another.

“It’s no different having a nanny/nanny drive the kids to school or activities. I do it for the family around me,” one user noted.

One user joked, “That’s her driver 💅🏻I would have loved this as a kid haha”

OP replied: “Haha, right?!” 😄 Thanks @vic! Yes, I will not limit my daughter from experiencing new things💅🏼💄”

Another user shared: “My dad has a friend named Art who is retired but wants to work a little. Dad pays him to pick me up from school, drive me home, and take me to swimming lessons and physical training. I love him.

“This is so heartwarming! Respect art for being such a positive presence in your life.

If it helps her, she can afford it, and she has taken all the appropriate precautions when considering her child’s safety, why Won’t Are you making your postpartum life a little easier? More power to her!
