Olivia Munn, John Mulaney welcome daughter, more June

John Mulaney and Olivia Munn are parents again! On September 14, the two welcomed a baby girl named Méi June Mulaney.

The couple’s first daughter and second child will join older brother Malcolm, who turns 3 in November. “We stole a lot of stuff from the hospital,” Mulaney joked on Instagram. “I love my little girl so much.”

Munn and Mulaney explained in their respective social media posts that Méi was born in the Year of the Dragon and that her name (pronounced like May) means “plum blossom” in Chinese.

“I am so proud that my little plum and my little dragon are on this journey with us,” Moon wrote. “My heart exploded.”

These have been eventful years for the family. The two tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at a friend’s home in New York state over the Fourth of July weekend. (Hosted by Munn Editorial Department Co-starring Sam Watson.

The two have known each other for years through other friends, but have been officially together since 2021, shortly after Mulaney completed rehab and divorced his first wife, Anna Marie Tendler.

“She dated me right out of rehab, which is what they call reverse capture,” Mulaney joked in a September interview with friend Seth Meyers. (Incidentally, Meyers is also a friend of Moon’s, and the couple actually met at Meyers’ wedding.)

He continued, “I had this really beautiful relationship with an incredible person…she held my hand through that hell.” [of early recovery] We are having a baby together.

However, shortly after Malcolm was born in November 2021, Mulaney held Moon’s hand as she received an “aggressive and rapid” breast cancer diagnosis. The disease requires a double mastectomy and hysterectomy, as well as several other surgeries. moon told Fashion Earlier this year, she froze her eggs specifically so that she and Mulaney could preserve the option of family planning.

In her statement, Munn also recounted the experience of working with a surrogate mother to bring Méi into the world. “I have many deep emotions about not being able to hold my daughter,” she wrote. “When I first met our surrogate, we had a mother-to-mother conversation. She showed me so much grace and understanding that I knew I had found a real-life angel. Words cannot express it My gratitude, she kept our baby safe for 9 months and made our dream come true.
