We already know the world was not built for children. People feel uncomfortable sitting next to children on a plane, and more and more restaurants are banning children under a certain age. Of course, children’s behavior in public these days is mostly related to parenting issues, but in general, parents often struggle with where to feel welcome with their children.
Now, apparently, the pumpkin patch isn’t even a safe place anymore.
A Reddit user in the /AskPortland subreddit outsourced opinions on where to go pumpkin picking without kids.
“Is there an adults-only pumpkin patch event in the Portland area?” they asked.
The answers in the post make people laugh.
“This is called farming,” one user wrote.
Another user channeled their inner Stefan ala saturday night live He joked: “The hottest club in Portland is Pumpkin Patch. This place has it all: gay guys, gypsies, grown men in wedding dresses, cats from the grocery store, room after room full of broken… Mirror room.
“If people here thought that way, they would become banks. I also like Halloween, but I hate kids.
“I personally hope to get a head start on the adults-only Easter egg hunt,” another said acidly. “Pay close attention to this clue.”
“Like, naked?” another wondered.
Yes, people’s reactions are hilarious, but there’s a weirder question here, right?

Why would people expect to go to places that would normally be great for kids, but not want to take their kids there?
Why adults only need to experience the wonder of childhood through the refracted lens of nostalgia and demand that it doesn’t exist real kids experience real childhood Because they’re annoyed by little people running around having a good time?
