Serena Williams Recreates Denim Look for Wyn Lip Gloss Launch

Serena Williams is taking a (fashionable) trip down memory lane!

On Monday, September 2, the 42-year-old tennis star shared photos from the launch of her latest Wyn Beauty line, while recreating looks from her past.

In the Instagram carousel, the professional athlete is wearing a denim ensemble – consisting of a short-sleeved jacket layered with a white shirt and a pleated mini skirt.

“This dress looks familiar – oh, that’s me in the background. Yes, that’s what inspired me to launch @wyn’s new lip gloss and lip liner in collaboration with @ultabeauty #USOpen,” Williams captioned the post.

The throwback photo she’s referring to appears in the background of her post, where she stands next to her sister Venus Williams, 44. The 2016 U.S. Open Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day was held at Arthur Ashe Tennis Stadium in New York.

That day, Serena Williams, then 22, wore a Nike suit and shoes.

“Me and @ultabeauty launching @wyn’s new lip liner and gloss 🫦 and having the best time wearing those jeans,” she wrote in another post on Monday.

“Jeans have never looked so good on jeans 🤩🤩🤩,” Wyn added in the comments section.

In late July, the mother-of-two spent some quality time with daughter Olympia, 6, and was seen wearing her mom’s brand Wyn Beauty (pronounced “win”) lip gloss.

Serena, who also has husband Alexis Ohanian and a 1-year-old daughter, Adira River, snapped a photo of her eldest daughter wearing the Ivy City company (Ivy City Co.) pink floral dress, wearing lip gloss.

Wyn retweeted the video on their Instagram Stories at the time, adding: “Olympia is not testing samples of our new formula in Paris 🎾👀☺️ Miss @olympiaohanian are we approved?”

In April, Serena sat down exclusively with People to talk about the inspiration behind Wyn Beauty.

“I’ve always loved beauty,” she said in the interview. “But when you’re a tennis player, there’s only so much you can do because you’re on the court for hours. You’re moving a lot, you’re sweating, and then you wipe everything off.

She added that throughout her “whole career,” she’s always tried to figure out, “What are the key products you need to look presentable?”

Serena found her solution in Wyn Beauty, which started with 10 products designed for an active lifestyle.

She added that her career also played a role in the branding.

“I think the tennis green packaging (we call it Wyn) makes sense and fits my story. [The color] When you hold it in your hand, it represents a huge amount of energy to me. This means a lot to me because I will always love tennis.
