I think Minecraft is the great equalizer for kids. No matter their age or their gaming skills, Minecraft can bring them together. You’ve never seen kids doing so well playing Minecraft together, and now the incredibly popular video game is getting the Hollywood treatment. first trailer minecraft movie has officially been released, and with a little help from The Beatles and plenty of gorgeous scenes, it looks like it’s going to be a big hit with the whole family.
From Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, minecraft movie will be directed by Jared Hess (are you from Napoleon Dynamite, freedom nachos, planner), the film will star Jason Momoa and Jack Black as “Garbage Man” Garrett Garrison and Steve (yes, That Steve) respectively. Momoa is one of four misfits in the film who finds himself pulled into the cube-like, pixelated world of Minecraft, where he not only must survive, but must chart his own path to survival.
Honestly, it feels the same Super Mario Bros., Which Very popular last year. I’m here for characters to be pulled into weird worlds!
minecraft movie The title is fitting because that’s exactly what it is, and with The Beatles helping the story along in the trailer, it promises to be a whimsical, fun ride.
Other favorite Minecraft characters and items throughout the movie include piglets and zombies. If you’ve ever watched your kids play this game (with absolute awe, because How do they know how to do all this?), you’re sure to have fun in the trailer and recognize some very important Minecraft creations.
minecraft movie Also starring the incredible Danielle Brooks (Orange is the new black Taystee), and Emma Myers (Wednesday‘s Enid), Sebastian Eugene Hanson (a relative newcomer), and Jennifer Coolidge (an icon!).
I’ve seen the trailer several times, once with my 10-year-old who has been playing Minecraft for a while, and it does look like a fun movie. this reminds me “Game of the Brave: Battle to the Top”, “Dungeons and Dragons: Thieves’ Glory”, And any new blockbuster that takes people into a whole new world. Kids will feel like they recognize and know it, but seeing it played on the big screen is sure to be epic. I was just waiting to see it in the movie theater while a bunch of kids were yelling and talking about which tools to use and which stones would be best to build a fort at night to protect them from zombies.
This is just the first trailer, so there are definitely more to come, but you can keep planning for next spring – minecraft movie Will be released in theaters only on April 4, 2025.
