The holidays often allow a partner’s weaponized incompetence to shine. have so There’s a lot going on—school spirit week, Christmas card orders, last-minute trips to urgent care—and the default parent has about ten breakdowns before Christmas Eve.
This mental burden often falls on the mother, the default parent. So what happens if the roles are reversed and the moms just go about their normal lives and don’t offer any help to make things run smoothly?
Clare, on TikTok @clarabellecwb, made another hilarious satirical video in which she flipped the holiday load and acted like a mom who weaponized incompetence like it was their job.
In the film, she engages in an all-too-familiar conversation that many of us have had with partners we just don’t get along with.
“I’m sorry. Did you buy a gift for my parents? Did you buy a gift for my sister? Did you give a gift to my work client?” she asked.
In another video, she and a partner gaslight their spouses, making them think them It’s a matter of holiday season stressors.
“You’re like running around and it’s stressing everyone out. Just relax,” she said.
She then goes into the “Ask Dad” portion of the video, kicking off all the dads who kick the ball to their partners (aka moms).
“Ask Dad. Mom doesn’t know what Elf on the Shelf is. Ask Dad. Mom doesn’t know anything about the school holiday concert. Gifts for teachers? Ask Dad. Mom doesn’t get emails from school.
Seriously, can you imagine asking your partner this question? Like if you can!
Claire then channeled her inner grumpy spouse who didn’t want to participate in the tacky fun of matching holiday pajamas.
“I don’t wear matching pajamas. I tell you every year, matching pajamas ruin a woman’s libido.
Then, the final blow, the classic “nothing” tactic.
“Daddy’s stocking is not empty. It’s full of love. Yes, because daddy loves to take care of all of us. You didn’t tell me what you wanted for Christmas. No, I’m not a mind reader. You have to communicate,” she explain.
After her video went viral, several default moms expressed their displeasure.
“He wants to do better this year, so now I not only have to celebrate Christmas, but I also have to train a Christmas intern,” one user joked.
“You forgot about losing your temper over family photos,” another said.
“Omg this is so exciting I have a 50/50 husband 😂,” another commented.
