It feels a little inappropriate Yellow shirt army After a huge cliffhanger in the Showtime series’ Season 2 finale, fans were thrown into a proverbial cold year. While the popular show was quickly renewed, pre-production was thrown into limbo when the Writers Guild of America went on strike in May 2023 — leaving fans wondering when exactly we’d get Find out what happened to our favorite hapless football team? Well, Antler Queen, we finally (finally!) have a release date.
On November 19, the show’s official Instagram account posted an ominous clip that cycled between a skull in a yellow jacket with Jackie’s heart-shaped necklace hanging from its eye socket and violent footage of the girls in the wilderness. This seems to confirm that while the second half of season 2 focuses on the present and the team’s adult lives, the next chapter will reveal more details about what really happened before they were rescued.
If you’re ready to know (hehe) all the details about what’s coming, keep reading.
when will it be Yellow shirt army Season 3 premiere?
Don’t make any plans for Valentine’s Day—you’re about to have a hot date with the new Yellowjacket episode. Season 3 is about to air February 14, 2025.
In addition, according to series co-creator Ashley Lyle, Showtime will release an extra episode before the third season to whet the audience’s appetite.
What will season three be about?
Warning: Spoilers ahead!
Not surprisingly, Showtime is keeping the details secret. As a quick refresher, the show tells the story of a group of women who were on the Yellow Jackets soccer team in high school in 1996, who spent 19 months in the wilderness before their plane crashed and they were stranded somewhere in Canada. The show jumps between their past and present, showing viewers what the girls had to endure in order to survive, as well as what the women must face now, 25 years later.
With season two ending on several cliffhangers, fans are expecting the dark coming-of-age series to tie up those loose ends first. How will the girls survive in the wilderness now that Coach Ben (we think) burned down the survivors’ cabin? Can this coach survive this betrayal? Will Misty and “citizen detective” Walter (Elijah Wood) get together? After all these years, can Van and Tessa rekindle their love? And, arguably most pressingly, how will everyone (including the audience) respond to the death of one of them Yellow shirt army‘The most decisive role?
All we know is that things are going to get crazier from here on out. “Are we going to get weirder? Probably! Will the aftermath of *Editor*’s death affect our (anti)heroes in a big way? Lyle tweeted. “Are our girls going to get more frustrated and dirty as they struggle to survive the elements (and themselves)? Are the stories of cheating girls even necessary? You bet!
during an interview vanity fair“We’re going to learn more about what’s going on in the wilderness that makes them so afraid to come out,” Lyle confirmed.
Which actors will return?
a large part Yellow shirt army” The magic lies in its ensemble cast… but in a series centered around death, how long can everyone last? Christina Ricci and Melanie Lynski were Emmy-nominated for their respective roles as adult Misty and Shauna, and so far, they’ve both been confirmed to return for season three.
Most of the other “Surviving” cast members are also expected to return:
- Samantha Hanratty as teen Misty
- Sophie Nellis plays teenage Shauna
- Sophie Thatcher as teenage Natalie
- Thai teenager Jasmin Savoy Brown
- Courtney Eaton as Teen Lottie
- Liv Hewson as Teenager
- Kevin Alves as young Travis
- Steven Krueger as Coach Ben
- Tawny Cypress as adult Tessa
- Lauren Ambrose as adult
- Simone Kessel as adult Lottie
Presumably, the supporting cast that is integral to Survivor’s life will continue to exist. These include Warren Cole and Sarah Desjardins as adult Shauna’s husband and daughter, and Wood as Misty’s music-loving would-be lover Walter.
Unfortunately, it’s unclear whether Juliette Lewis will return as the adult Nat. While the Season 2 finale seems to have made it clear that the character has been killed off, it’s possible that she still lives on via flashbacks.
One exciting potential newcomer is Lynskey’s husband, Jason Ritter, who is rumored to have a cameo in the film, but when that will be revealed is unclear.
Is there a trailer?
There’s no full trailer yet, but Showtime did release an intro reel with season three teaser photos that are sure to leave fans hungry for more. If it gives you the same chills running through your body that the show did when it first came out, that’s stalking.
“I would say, in terms of atmosphere, we think Season 3 is kind of like a throwback to Season 1,” Lyle told The Wrap. “I would say the girls have been there for a while and they are thriving.”
